Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as service-dog public access?
No. This program builds excellent real-world manners for pet dogs. Service-dog work has additional disability-related task and public-access requirements, which we evaluate separately.
What does "public access" mean in this program?
Dog-appropriate public spaces: patios, pet-friendly stores, busy sidewalks, a friend's house. It means your dog can be somewhere with you without being a problem. It does not mean legal access rights, which apply only to a trained service dog working with a handler who has a disability.
My dog listens at home and ignores me outside. Why?
Because a cue learned in a quiet living room has not been tested against distance, duration, or distraction yet. Dogs do not generalize on their own. We build the behavior at home first, then add those three variables gradually so it survives the front door.
Is this taught as lessons or Board & Train?
Either, and the evaluation decides. Board & Train gives us concentrated responsibility for the training phase; lessons put you in the driver's seat with coaching and homework. Which one fits depends on your dog, your goal, and how much daily practice you can realistically run.
What do I have to do between sessions?
Homework, and it matters more than most people expect. You get an evaluation-led plan, owner homework, and hands-on transfer coaching. The coaching exists so the work holds up in your hands, not only ours.
